This is what the ERGO incoming travel insurance for guests from abroad provides you with medical emergency assistance:
- As a foreign guest, you cover yourself against high costs with incoming health insurance with medical emergency assistance in the event of a sudden illness.
- You will be reimbursed for the costs of medical treatment in Germany or other host countries (for example, in-patient or out-patient treatment as well as medicines, remedies and bandages).
- ERGO covers the costs of transport for first aid in the host country.
Host countries:
All countries of the European Union as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland are considered as host countries but not the country in which the insured person has his or her permanent residence.
Travel health insurance with medical emergency assistance
In the event of acute illnesses and accidents occurring during the insured stay, we reimburse, among other things, the costs of
- necessary outpatient or inpatient treatments, urgent operations and medicines
- analgesic dental treatments
- medical treatments of pregnancy complications
- aids (e.g. walking aids, rental of a wheelchair) if they become necessary for the first time during the trip
- medically meaningful repatriation and luggage return transport to your place of residence

Incoming travel health insurance:
In the event of illness or accident, we cover, among other things, the costs of medical treatment necessary in the host country. In addition, a medically reasonable and justifiable repatriation to the home country or the residence's nearest suitable hospital.
Incoming complete protection:
Includes incoming health insurance and travel accident insurance (insurance cover for accidents in the host country that lead to permanent disability or death. Insured sums: death € 10.000, - / invalidity € 20.000, -) and a travel liability insurance (insurance cover exists for liability risks for personal injury and property damage during the insured stay. Sum insured: € 500.000, - lump sum).
Maximum insurance period:
The maximum insurance duration is max. 1 year.
Extension of the stay:
An extension of the insurance cover up to the maximum insurance period can only be made within the contract term and with the approval of the ERGO ServiceCenter.
Host countries:
All countries of the European Union (EU) as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland are considered as host countries and not the country in which the insured person has his or her habitual residence.
